About CleanKeys

CleanKeys is unique in its design and its “clean-ability”. A smooth glass surface makes it one of the world’s easiest keyboards to clean, and extremely resistant to microbial growth.

CleanKeys Keyboard

It is the ideal computer solution for sterile environments where hygiene is a must – including hospitals, laboratories and food processing environments.

Touch Sensitive
The keys are touch-sensitive, with sensitivity settings allowing CleanKeys to be touched directly or through gloves.

The keys are printed on the underside of the glass where specialized touch-capacitive circuitry detects the slightest touch of a human finger!

The keys have an audible click giving the user the reassurance that a key has been pressed.

Easy to clean
To clean, simply spray and wipe the keyboard with your choice of disinfectant. With no nooks or crannies to harbour dirt and bacteria, CleanKeys contributes towards a hygienic environment.

Quick to clean
With the integrated trackpad, there is no need to touch a non-aseptic mouse with associated time-consuming glove changes. It takes less than 10 seconds to thoroughly clean the surface of the keyboard, saving professional staff hours per week in operatory preparation.

Robust
CleanKeys has a unique top surface made from glass or acrylic and a robust base made from Corian solid surface material.

Proven
The glass keyboard hugely outperformed other keyboards when an infection control pilot study* was carried out.

A selection of keyboards (standard rubber and glass) were infected with an inoculation ‘cocktail’ containing E.coli and MRSA.  After leaving them to dry for 5 minutes, the keyboards were cleaned with a single wipe of a caviwipe (a disinfecting towelette) and allowed to dry.

In summary, the CleanKeys keyboard was at least 100 times less infected than the rubber and silicon keyboards.

* Conducted by Stollery Children’s Hospital, University of Alberta, Sept 2007
